Melissa's Wedding Weekend... Raleigh, NC

My good friend Melissa Bailey got married in March of 2010 and asked me to be a bridesmaid... see I met Melissa when I was working in Raleigh at WLFL/WRDC. She took a job at WRAL not long before I moved to Las Vegas... but we've remained friends and I was honored that she asked me.

First things first... I flew in on the Thursday before the wedding to help throw her a little bachlorette party. We ended up going to this place little bar that had a lounge act. They were so good.

Of course we can't have a party without penis straws straight from Vegas!

Lori and Melissa enjoying their beverages and great music.

They sang Melissa, "Going to the chapel" and some various wedding songs.

The other singer... He was awesome!!!

Melissa was enjoying herself... the two rum and cokes and champagne helped out.

Here's the group of us... Lori (another bridesmaid and friend), Annie (came in from Atlanta early to party with us), Melissa (the bride), well Me (I actually traveled the farthest to be at the wedding) and Cherri (the brides sister and Maid of Honor). Unfortunately Melissa's other sister Jessica was extremely pregnant with her daughter Jamie and couldn't be there with us.

Here's Melissa in the Brides room... it was a tiny little room where we all got dress.  I wish I had a picture for how small it was but when 5 people need to get dressed there it felt even smaller!

Melissa's sister Jessica was so pregnant.  Shortly after the wedding she had baby Jamie.  I loved this picture because Melissa just looked so happy and excited to get married.

They had personalized napkins on every table for the cocktail hour.  And the reception was at Marbles... which is a Children's Museum in Raleigh, NC.  I used to love that place when I lived there.

Melissa and Chad's First Dance

They were so happy here.  I'm glad I got the chance to be a part of it all.

Me and Lori at the wedding party table.  Funny story.  On the menu was pasta, Melissa spilled it all over her dress.  I was in the bathroom for like 20 minutes trying to get it off her dress.  At least it was at the bottom of it.

Some old co-workers from North Carolina.  I miss them, especially now that we are spread out across the country again.

They were dancing and I totally butted it.  They were both shocked but I thought it was funny.

All in all a good night and a good trip to Raleigh.  I haven't been back since... I definitely need to plan another trip there.

Last New Years in Las Vegas!

Okay so I'm a lot behind and I'm playing catch up... so here goes!

Here is Ian getting all set up for the show!

Since Ian and Terry both had to work on New Years Eve they convinced me to go and hang out on the strip with them.  So really I ended up somewhat working.
So the stage was set up again in front of Caesars Palace.  There is something awesome about celebrating the new year on the Vegas Strip!
The stage from the back!

Sophia and Jim preparing for the show!
News 3 broadcasted live from the strip every year!  Each year they alternated anchors to host.  This time was Sophia Choi and Jim Snyder.  Sad part is Sophia isn't at the station anymore either.

Sophia and Jim... show started!
The show is from all over Vegas... including downtown.  But I never went down there for New Years Eve.  For the 3 years that I worked in Vegas... I was always at Caesars Palace at the main set.

Sophia, Jim and Dan Ball

Terry Wood!  I miss this guy!
We always had fun working on New Years.  Of course that meant no drinking.  But Terry is making the most of it in this pic!

More production shots.  Nothing like a little behind the scenes action.

Ian and Jason "the floor director"

So here's a little insight on the next few pictures.  Ian... well he likes food.  And Serendipity brought us all this food which was so nice.  Well Ian couldn't leave the camera position so he made me bring it to him.  I'm a sucker! And yes those are condiments too!

Happy New Year... 2010!  I can't believe that!  I am so far behind on this blog.

What the Strip somewhat looks like on New Years.
